One of the largest SCend Offs in the United States
Reno – The USC Northern Nevada-Lake Tahoe Chapter will host the 32nd annual SCend Off at Round Hill Pines in Zephyr Cove on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
This event is a longstanding USC tradition, where alumni “send off” students for the new school year. The local alumni chapter grants scholarship awards to new and continuing USC students, including the Carmen Parrish Memorial Scholarship donated annually by the Parrish Family.
There will be an exclusive concert by the Spirit of Troy, USC’s world-renowned marching band featuring members of the USC Song Girls and Spirit Leaders on the beach of Round Hill Pines resort. USC alumnae and KTVN news anchor, Kristen Remington, will serve as the host announcer for the event.
The USC Northern Nevada-Lake Tahoe Chapter boasts more than 900 members, and strives to keep alumni connected through social events and mixers. In addition to providing networking opportunities, these events assist in raising funds for local chapter scholarships, which go directly to students that live in the northern Nevada area who are attending USC.
Each summer, USC alumni chapters around the world host SCend Off receptions to welcome incoming USC students to the Trojan Family. SCend Offs help connect new students, their families and friends to local alumni and alumni groups.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $60 per adult at the gate, $25 for children ages 8 – 18. USC students are free with a valid USC ID.
All funds generated from ticket sales and contributions are used for scholarships, and to bring the USC Spirit of Troy, Song Girls and Spirit Leaders to the event.
