Dominic A. Marrocco, Chairman at Equiinet and Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will be announcing the Grand Prize Winner of the 2016 Dominic Anthony Marrocco Southern Nevada Business Plan Competition. The event will be held at UNLV Foundations Building on Friday, April 29, 2016 starting at 5:30pm.
The 2016 finalists are: BzBee, Collage, FRP Innovations, Higher Ground Produce and Omnia LV.
BzBee is an online social networking and business growth tool that allows small and mid-sized businesses to connect and network for mutual advantage. The team is led by Rachel Farner.
Collage is a social network, peer-to-peer marketplace, dating and meet-up service exclusively for students within a single college campus that will be available as both a mobile application and a website. Team leader is Sebastian Sandqvist.
FRP Innovations is developing a non-toxic and high-performing fire resistant polymer treatment named PyroHalt. The polymer can be applied to any textile or fabric in order to make people and structures safe from fires. The team is led by Jace Meier.
Higher Ground Produce is high tech greenhouses that aim to bring premium local produce to Las Vegas. The team is led by Jonathan Torn.
Omnia LV is a nocturnal amusement park that aims to make Las Vegas the roller coaster capital of the world and provide residents and visitors with an alternative nightlife entertainment experience. The team is led by Travis Williams.
The Southern Nevada Business Plan Competition is a collaborate effort between education and industry to recognize and support of Sothern Nevada entrepreneurs.
