Founded in 2002, Better World Books has opened a 140,000 square foot distribution center in Reno. The company plans to hire 100 employees by the beginning of April. An online book store that carries over 8 million new and used book titles, the company supports literacy, libraries and education as well as environmental initiatives.
A tourism company that offers helicopter tours, Maverick Aviation Group announced expansion plans in Southern Nevada. The organization, which plans to hire 16 new employees this year recently won the Diamond Award, an award of excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration. Maverick plans capital investments of about $199 million over the lifetime of a 20-year abatement agreement.
A global provider of technology enabled business process services, Sutherland Global Services announced it was opening an operations center in Las Vegas. The company plans to hire 2,000 employees and currently has 61 locations in 19 companies. Sutherland helps business merge back office processes and customer management services with technology and robotics process automation.
