University of Nevada, Reno Football Offensive Line Coach and Former USC Football Captain, Jonathan Himebauch, to attend
Reno – The USC Northern Nevada-Lake Tahoe Chapter will host the 2016 Spring Scholarship Social on April 14, 2016 at Bistro 7 in Reno, Nev.
The event will raise funds for continuing USC student scholarships for students that hail from the northern Nevada area. This year, University of Nevada, Reno Football Offensive Line Coach and Former USC Football Captain, Jonathan Himebauch, will attend and address the chapter on his new post at the University of Nevada, Reno. Himebauch was a two-year starting center with the Trojans and led USC to a pair of Pac-10 titles in 1995-1996 playing in the 1995 Cotton Bowl and the 1996 Rose Bowl.
“I’m excited to be in northern Nevada and look forward to meeting alumni,” said Himebauch. “I have tremendous respect for the University of Nevada Football program and know that Mackay Stadium is always a tough place to play for visiting teams. I learned this while I was an assistant coach for the legendary USC Head Coach John Robinson while he was the Head Coach at UNLV in the early 2000s. I learned numerous life skills from Coach Robinson and as a former Trojan student-athlete, I understand and appreciate the opportunity to play and coach for a community that supports its local team. Reno is a great college town and I’m excited to be a part of the Wolf Pack family.”
Himebauch arrives in Reno after spending the past two seasons in the Canadian Football League. He has also made collegiate coaching stints at Wake Forest, San Diego State and UNLV. Cumulatively, Himebauch has worked as an offensive line coach for the past 14 seasons. Most recently, Himebauch served as an offensive line and assistant head coach with the Toronto Argonauts during the 2015 season.
The chapter will also hold a raffle for a USC vs. Alabama Weekender at the event. The package includes: Two premium seats/tickets to the game on September 3rd in Arlington, Texas, two nights hotel accommodations at the Westin Dallas Downtown, the official USC host hotel, round trip transfers between the hotel and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and two passes to the official USC Tailgate Party with a 3-hour, pre-game event with an appearance by the USC Spirit of Troy. Raffle tickets are $50/ticket and the package is a $2,000 value.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Scholarship Spring Social tickets are $20 per person in advance, and includes hors d’oeuvres. There will be a no host bar available. For more information, visit the chapter’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/groups/USCNNVLT/
