Reno – REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) has appointed Krys T. Bart to the REMSA volunteer Board of Directors. Bart is currently president and CEO of Krys T. Bart and Associates and the former president and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
Bart’s tenure at the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority spanned more than 15 years. Under her leadership, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport was recognized by the Air Transport Research Society as one of the top five most efficient airports in North America.
The volunteer Board is comprised of a representative from each of the three major hospitals in northern Nevada, a representative from the community chosen by the three hospitals (which is the position that Bart has filled), a CPA, an attorney and a community member selected by the District Board of Health. The District Health Officer is an ex officio member. The Board of Directors provides oversight and direction to the organization with additional oversight provided by the Washoe County Health District, the District Board of Health, and the EMS Advisory Committee.
“I am honored to serve on the board,” said Bart. “I am so impressed by their quality of care and service, their commitment to community and the innovation they have demonstrated in improving health care in northern Nevada.”
“Krys Bart embodies the spirit of community and business, and we are excited about the expertise she brings to the table,” said Jim Begbie, chair of the REMSA Board of Directors.
Prior to leading the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, Bart was the Assistant Director of Aviation for the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport and the Assistant Airport Director for the Fresno Air Terminal/Chandler General Aviation Airport. Bart was named One of the Seven Most Respected CEOs in Nevada by Nevada Business Journal. She currently also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Humane Society, and is a member of the International Women’s Forum and the Airport Consultants Council.
