LAS VEGAS – On Thursday, March 3, 2016 job seekers can meet face-to-face with hiring representatives from one of the fastest growing industries for job gains in Nevada: hospitality and leisure.
Workforce Connections is partnering with Nevada Partners and Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly to announce the first ever Hospitality Hiring Event, to be held at Nevada Partners, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd., North Las Vegas, NV 89030, on March 3, 2016 starting at 9 a.m.
Dozens of employers including Palms Casino Resort, Cannery Casino & Hotel, Lucky Silver Gaming, Trump Hotel Las Vegas, Stations Casinos, Binion’s Gambling Hall, Four Queens Hotel and Casino, and Robert Half will be actively interviewing qualified job candidates.
Attendees are encouraged to register for the hiring event at www.nvcareercenter.org to expedite the onsite registration process. All attendees should be at Nevada Partners by 9 a.m. to register or check in.
According to the Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation, in December 2015 the leisure and hospitality industry in Nevada grew by 9,600 positions for a 2.8% growth rate year over year.
“While alternative industries have emerged to help diversify our state’s employment forecast, the leisure and hospitality industry continues to be Nevada’s bread and butter. The impressive job gains in this industry are driving the economic recovery,” said Kenadie Cobbin Richardson, director of business engagement and communications for Workforce Connections. “We encourage those who are unemployed or underemployed to utilize this hiring event and the current opportunities that exist in this industry to tap into a new career.”
