EDAWN, Bosma Business Advisors and KPS3 host Mikal E. Belicove for free talk for established businesses and start-ups alike
Reno — Mikal E. Belicove, Entrepreneur Magazine columnist and contributing writer, book author, and ‘business thinker’ who writes about emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, legal issues and more, will speak to the northern Nevada business community on Wednesday, October 7, at 4 p.m., at Bosma Business Center in a free, can’t-miss session on business strategy called “Strategy? You Don’t Know What The Hell You’re Talking About!”
“Ask 10 people what ‘strategy’ is, or the role strategy plays in their business, and you’ll hear 20 different answers,” said Belicove. “That’s because most of us are posers when it comes to strategy. We act like we know what strategy is, but at the end of the day, we really don’t know what the hell we’re talking about.”
Belicove has been credited for launching, managing and selling a Boulder, Colo.-based Internet start-up. He co-authored all three editions of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Facebook; worked in Acquisitions for Pearson plc (NYSE: PSO) and John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE: JW.A); and worked in a variety of staff and executive team roles for start-ups and not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Belicove also serves on the Board of Trustees at Keystone College, a nationally ranked, private, liberal arts and sciences college located in northeastern Pennsylvania.
The session is perfect for the expanding northern Nevada start-up community, entrepreneurs and business owners, and any professional who is interested in leadership, strategy or business planning.
KPS3 Marketing, EDAWN and Bosma Business Advisors are sponsors of the event. To attend this free session, please RSVP on Eventbrite or email mcardle@edawn.org.
