Ice Rink, Photos with Santa and Additional Entertainment Planned Through the Season
Downtown Summerlin will officially kick off the holiday season on Friday, Nov. 20, with the first annual Downtown Summerlin Holiday Parade. Destined to become a Las Vegas holiday tradition, these magical evenings will be a holiday spectacle for the entire family.
The Downtown Summerlin holiday parade will continue for 20 nights throughout the holiday season. This non-denominational celebration will include eight floats, in addition to toy soldiers, snowflake princesses and princes, nutcrackers, dancers, drummers and festive music to help bring out the holiday spirit in all who attend. Also parading through the streets will be characters such as penguins, polar bears and reindeer entertaining the crowd. The parade will last for 20 minutes and is scheduled for the evenings of Nov. 20-21, 27-28, Dec. 4-5 and every evening from Dec. 11-24.
Downtown Summerlin is also bringing back its popular Rock Rink, with the public ice skating attraction scheduled to open on Friday, Nov. 20. The rink will again be located near the Pavilion on the northwest side of the property at Rosemary Park Drive and Summa Drive. Skaters of all ages can join in the fun through January. A detailed schedule and prices can be found at www.downtownsummerlin.com.
Santa will also arrive at Downtown Summerlin on Nov. 20 and will be available throughout the holiday season for photos in Downtown Summerlin’s Winter Wonderland, located near the Pavilion. Detailed information on appearance times and photos packages will be available soon.
To celebrate Chanukah, Downtown Summerlin will host a Menorah lighting, starting at sundown on Dec. 6. For eight nights, the Jewish Community Center will host the lighting of candles, in addition to different events and entertainment for all each night.
“We’re thrilled to share Downtown Summerlin’s first holiday parade with the Las Vegas community,” said Andrew Ciarrocchi, Senior General Manager of Downtown Summerlin. “We’re incredibly excited about the entire holiday season and look forward to sharing some festive experiences and nighttime surprises with our customers.
