LAS VEGAS – Former Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury will join a lively panel discussion by local real estate gurus highlighting a commercial real estate symposium being presented Sept. 11 by the Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV).
CALV is hosting its 10th annual Commercial Alliance Educational Symposium from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Gold Coast hotel-casino for commercial real estate professionals in Nevada and neighboring states.
In addition to educational sessions where real estate professionals can earn continuing education credits to help them maintain their real estate licenses, members of the media and the public are invited to attend the annual luncheon and panel discussion scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. that day.
The panel discussion is billed as “Las Vegas Real Estate Legends – When Cocktail Napkins Were Contracts.” It continues a recent tradition of featuring longtime local real estate legends and community leaders discussing how the industry and the Las Vegas area have evolved over the decades. Scheduled panelists include Woodbury, the longest-serving commissioner in Clark County history whose name graces the 215 Beltway, and prominent local developer Mark Fine. Longtime local real estate broker Kevin Buckley will moderate the discussion. Panelists will also take questions from the audience of CALV members and other real estate professionals attending the educational sessions offered that day.
The symposium will include morning and afternoon classes taught by nationally known commercial real estate speakers and instructors Cynthia Shelton, who holds the CCIM, CIPS and CRE professional designations, and Camela Ma, CCIM, CIPS, FRICS, TRC. Shelton’s course is on “Parlaying Your Skills in Commercial Real Estate.” Ma’s course is called “Unlocking Opportunities by Understanding Global Trends to Grow Your Real Estate Business.” Real estate professionals can earn up to six hours of continuing education credits by attending the classes. Participants will also be treated to a continental breakfast.
On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Participants can register in advance or at the event. All-day admission is $99 for members of CALV and the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® (GLVAR), or $149 for others.
