PAHRUMP, Nev. – In an effort to provide valuable support for local students, Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA), a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Pahrump, will host its annual Fill the Bucket Truck School Supply Drive on Aug. 1 at multiple locations in Pahrump. VEA encourages community members to make donations during the daylong charitable event, which will provide a wide range of school supplies to 11 schools within VEA’s service area.
VEA will accept donations of school supplies and cash at multiple locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 1. VEA employees and Ambassadors will be stationed at select locations to collect donations.
Donations will be accepted at the following drop-off locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 1:

• Wal-Mart Supercenter
300 S. Nevada Highway 160, Pahrump, NV 89048
In addition, community members can drop supplies off at these locations through July 31. Monetary donations will not be accepted at these locations.

In 2014, the Fill the Bucket Truck School Supply Drive raised 31 buckets of school supplies, equivalent to 449.5 cubic feet, surpassing the event’s previous record of 22 buckets. Since its inception, the program has collected 2,117 cubic feet of supplies for local schools.
“This popular event continues to serve as a great opportunity for VEA to partner with community members in supporting hard-working students across southwestern Nevada,” said VEA Community Relations Representative Cassandra Selbach. “We are impressed every year by the community’s widespread participation.”
