LAS VEGAS – Craig Hunter has joined Urology Specialists of Nevada, where he will practice in all aspects of urology.
“Dr. Hunter’s experience and skill set make him a valuable part of our practice,” said Dr. Robert McBeath, founder of Urology Specialists of Nevada.
Previously, Dr. Hunter was a fellow in the 2014 Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the Kulkarni Center for Reconstructive Urology in Pune, India. While in India, he learned advanced urethral reconstructive techniques. The 10 months in India also provided his wife and four children a unique and “priceless” cultural experience. He also served as a clinical professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Surgical Specialties.
Hunter has published several articles in professional journals and delivered numerous presentations and lectures on urology. He has additional publications and national conference presentations on the topic of urethral stricture disease. He is still active in the reconstructive discipline with more publications currently in process. Dr Hunter received his degree in medicine from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his urological residency as chief resident at the Detroit Medical Center, Michigan State University consortium in Detroit, Michigan.
He is a member of numerous professional medical associations, including the American Medical Association, American Urologic Association, American College of Surgeons, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Urologic Society, American Urological Association North Central Section, the Société International D’Urologie, and the exclusive Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Hunter enjoys community service. He has contributed by providing sports physicals for professional sports teams, underserved high school athletes, and homeless shelter clinics. He has been active in leadership for the Boy Scouts of America for over 12 years, and despite just moving to the Las Vegas area in May 2015, has already begun his volunteer work with a local troop.
