LAS VEGAS – The PENTA Building Group recently helped raise $125,000 for three local nonprofit organizations during its 11th annual Charity Golf Classic held at the Revere Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada.
Participants of this year’s event included 336 golfers from 94 companies. These participants contributed through sponsorships and donations to raise funds for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF), the Women’s Development Center (WDC) and the Nevada Military Support Alliance (NMSA). An additional 60 volunteers helped organize and implement the event.
“PENTA is grateful for the contribution of time, prizes and funds by our participants, sponsors and volunteers,” said John Cannito, PENTA’s Chief Operating Officer. “This annual event is a success because of their generosity.”
Each year, PENTA’s tournament has supported the NCCF and WDC organizations. WDC provides a wide variety of housing services for homeless and low-income community members, including transitional housing and affordable rental programs.
“Since 2005, PENTA has been our ally in the fight against homelessness,” said Tina Prieto, WDC’s executive director. “Because of their generosity and continuous commitment to the women’s development center and this community, over 59,000 individuals and families have achieved self sufficiency.”
The NCCF provides numerous free support services for local critically ill children and their families.
“We are so very grateful for the relationship and family ties we enjoy with PENTA,” said Jeffrey Gordon, president and CEO of NCCF. “They simply host one of the best golf tournaments in the valley and with their amazing philanthropic belief at the very core of their mission they continue to touch and embrace the lives of so many children and families that are in such need in our community. Of all the companies we have the pleasure of working with, PENTA leads the way and sets the standard all year long for doing the ‘Right Thing for all the Right Reasons.’”
This year, PENTA’s tournament also raised funds for NMSA, a nonprofit that has distributed more than $1 million in financial support and assistance to veterans, Nevada military service members, and the families of fallen Nevada service members.
“The Nevada Military Support Alliance is honored to be the recipient of such a generous donation,” said Teresa Di Loreto, executive director of the Nevada Military Support Alliance. “It was truly an honor to spend a wonderful day with The PENTA Building Group team meeting all of the wonderful players in the golf tournament.”
Since its inception in 2004, PENTA’s annual golf tournament has raised over $1 million for local nonprofits.
