Diane Gandy, executive vice president of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, received the 2015 Women of Distinction Award in the Hospitality/Gaming/Convention Service category.
The 17th Annual Women of Distinction Awards luncheon was hosted by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) at Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
Women from across many industries and roles within Southern Nevada were honored at the prestigious 2015 Women of Distinction Awards ceremony. The program honors women whose dedication, excellence and contributions within their fields and the community inspire success. Members, non-members, business owners and executives comprised the group of finalists and recipients.
The luncheon awards event included a keynote presentation by Alejandra Castillo, MBDA National Director, U.S. Dept. of Commerce. Sherry Swensk, KLAS-TV 8 News Now was the emcee and Rockfield Drive Band provided the entertainment.
Diane Gandy has an extensive career in the hospitality industry and is a leader in the community. She recently launched and manages the Nevada State chapter of Women in Lodging in partnership with the American Hotel and Lodging Association, gaining national recognition.
“Diane has made incalculable contributions through her leadership to rejuvenate and breathe new life into the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association statewide. She has also broken ground in forming and managing the Nevada Chapter of Women in Lodging,” said Lynn Mitchell, Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, chairman of the board.

Being able to inspire, share experience and create opportunities for women at all levels within their careers is a highlight of my role and activities,” said Diane Gandy, executive vice president of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association.
