The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) of Southern Nevada will host a red carpet membership drive finale at Tivoli Village on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will feature special offers from participating Tivoli Village businesses along with a custom NAWBO-Tivoli passport which will encourage attendees to visit women-owned, NAWBO-affiliated retailers and restaurants.
Sherry Swensk of 8 News Now will emcee the event and give away $15,000 worth of prizes donated by NAWBO Southern Nevada members and other local women business owners by spinning the NAWBO Wheel of Fortune.
Ninon of Ninon Speaks will conduct interviews on the red carpet, with new members showcasing their businesses.
Entrepreneur Elizabeth Blau is a member of NAWBO’s southern Nevada chapter. One of her restaurants is Made L.V. at Tivoli Village. “I think that for all business owners it is important to use your network as a resource. I am always talking to other restaurateurs, but also other business owners and executives across a wide variety of industries,” Blau said. ” I think that sometimes people are afraid to reach out to their peers and talk about their business, but by reaching out for advice, support, just a conversation, it can help you be a better owner and manager.”
The event committee includes NAWBO members Kelly Connery, Lisa Ferrell, Leila Friedlander, Ruth Furman and Eva Love.
Christy Echols, president of NAWBO Southern Nevada, said bringing together women business owners in our community to strengthen, connect, promote and support one another is a big part of the chapter’s mission.
NAWBO Southern Nevada’s membership drive has a $50 joining discount ending on April 30, 2015.
