RENO, Nev. – Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET) has recognized Richard P. Hallman, executive vice president and chief information officer of EMPLOYERS (NYSE:EIG), America’s small business insurance specialist, as Technologist of the Year. Hallman will accept the award from Mayor Hillary Schieve at the 2015 NCET Awards Dinner at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa on Thursday, April 9, 2015.
The NCET Awards recognize individuals and companies who have greatly enhanced the growth and prestige of Northern Nevada’s technology community. The Technologist of the Year honor rewards an exceptional individual who has demonstrated innovative and effective use of technology in support of the strategic initiatives of his or her organization.
“I’m honored to be named NCET’s 2015 Technologist of the Year and to be part of a company that has been recognized by NCET for the third year in a row for its technological advancements,” said Hallman.
Hallman has been with EMPLOYERS for the past decade and has managed the organization’s overall IT infrastructure, security and application development teams. He also led the development of various online services, including EACCESS, a web-based insurance quoting and automated underwriting system for small business insurance agents.
