LAS VEGAS – Experience live music and all-you-can-responsibly enjoy wine, beer and spirits for a good cause at the second annual Corks & Kegs wine and craft beer tasting fundraiser for the Nevada Health Care Association (NVHCA) Perry Foundation on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Silverton Casino Hotel.
Proceeds from Corks & Kegs will help support the Nevada Health Care Association Perry Foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of care in Nevada’s nursing homes and post-acute care facilities by providing continued education for health care professionals.
“This fun event will help provide the Perry Foundation with critical funding to support the future of post-acute health care in the state of Nevada,” said Robert Kidd, President of the Perry Foundation. Corks & Kegs will feature drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and live music
The Perry Foundation recognizes the top three performing nursing homes in Southern Nevada as identified utilizing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services “18 Quality Measurements.” These “Endeavor Awards” will be presented in a special VIP event preceding Corks & Kegs.
Last year the Perry Foundation awarded over 1,000 continuing education units to licensed administrators, executive directors and nurses throughout Nevada. The foundation has also provided hundreds of hours of in-house education and training for health care facilities and communities. As a contributing result of these actions, Nevada’s national ranking improved drastically in the “Nursing Home Report Card” as reported by the Families for Better Care organization. Nevada moved up 17 spots in one year – from 43rd to 26th in 2014. This ranking makes Nevada the nation’s “most improved” state when it comes to improvement in long-term health care.
The Southern Nevada community can help by supporting Perry Foundation events and its mission to continually improve care. “When you, or a family member need post-acute or long-term care in Nevada, you want to be sure that the caretakers are properly trained and are committed to providing the best possible care,” said Kidd. “The Perry Foundation is working to make continuing education possible for all of Nevada’s post-acute caretakers.”
Tickets are available on www.silvertoncasino.com for $45 through March 20. On March 21, the ticket price will increase to $55
