Legislative update to cover what’s being done federally to grow Nevada economy
HENDERSON, Nev. – U.S. Sen. Harry Reid will serve as the guest speaker at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Legislative Update breakfast. Titled "Conversation with Senator Reid on Growing Nevada's Economy," the breakfast will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in the Cancun Room at the Fiesta Henderson, 777 W Lake Mead Pkwy.
First elected to the Senate in 1986, Reid serves as majority leader for the U.S. Senate. During the breakfast, Reid will discuss what is being done on the federal level to grow Nevada’s economy.
“While the Nevada economy recovers from the recession, families across the state continue to face challenges in the job and housing markets,” said Scott Muelrath, president and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. “Policies enacted over the past few years have helped improve the economy, create jobs and improve the housing market, but more still needs to be done to help put Nevadans back to work and provide relief to middle class families and small businesses.”
