U.K. pop singer Katy Tiz will perform at Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas’ first summer concert on Saturday, July 5. The rising star will take the stage at 5 p.m. for a post-July 4th treat. She will sing several selections and answer a few audience questions, followed by Jordan Kate Mitchell, a local folk, pop and rock performer, who will entertain until 6 p.m.
The concert is being sponsored by Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas and My 93.1 Las Vegas’ NEW #1 For All The Hits and is included with the price of admission or a season pass.
Tiz’s first single, “The Big Bang,” a cover of the boisterous pop number originally released by Rock Mafia in 2010, was named as American Top 40’s “Breakout Song” in April 2014. The track is now climbing the iTunes Store’s “Top Pop Songs” chart and is No. 45 on Shazam’s “Top 100 USA.” Tiz is quickly earning accolades for her blend of wry lyrics with contemporary pop hooks and propulsive hip-hop and reggae-inspired beats.
In October 2013, Tiz went to Rock Mafia’s Los Angeles studio to record “The Big Bang.” The song was immediately relatable to her, particularly with its opening lines: “I don’t wanna lie/I’m gonna take what you’re giving/’Cause I know you’re willing/To take me all the way.” For Tiz, those words represented the support of the music industry.
Wet‘n’Wild is located at 7055 S. Fort Apache Rd., just west of the I-215 and W. Sunset Road exit.
