Community Service Day at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas

WHY:

McDonald’s is proud to continue its tradition of community-focused volunteerism in 2014 with a special community service day at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas (RMHC). During the one-day event, nearly 40 Southern Nevada McDonald’s employees will assist RMHC with volunteer projects to assist the organization in its mission to provide a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

For the first time in 15 years, RMHC of Las Vegas has undergone a series of renovations to better serve families in need. Recent improvements include a newly designed lobby as well as a remodeled kitchen and dining room.

Throughout the day, McDonald’s volunteers will restock and organize RMHC’s common areas including the food pantry, game room and backyard area.

This year, McDonald’s is also inviting nonprofits and philanthropic organizations to apply in order to receive a full day of volunteer work from up to 200 local McDonald’s employees. Applicants must propose community service projects fulfilling specific requirements and the project must be completed in October.

Applications can be found at www.vegascommunityday.com. They must be submitted by Aug. 31, 2014. The selected organization will be announced in September.
