Regional Retail Destination Hires Top Industry Professionals
LAS VEGAS – The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE:HHC) announced the hiring of Rick Sperber and Susan Holland as Senior Operations Manager and Specialty Leasing Manager respectively for Downtown Summerlin. Sperber and Holland join the new leadership team responsible for opening the 106-acre, 1.6 million-square-foot development,which represents the first phase for the future Downtown Summerlin. When open later this year, the shopping, dining and entertainment venue will feature more than 125 stores and restaurants in a streetscape environment located in the heart of the Summerlin master planned community.
In his role as Senior Operations Manager, Sperber will oversee security, housekeeping, maintenance, valet, landscaping and other areas of Downtown Summerlin. Sperber has nearly 30 years of shopping center experience, including serving as the Senior Operation Manager at Westfield Topanga, General Growth’s Fashion Show Shopping Center and Simon’s Forum Shops at Caesars. He willreport directly to Andrew Ciarrocchi, Senior General Manager. He graduated with an associate’s degree from Santa Monica College.
Holland brings 15 years of retail marketing and specialty leasing experience to the team. In her role as Specialty Leasing Manager of Downtown Summerlin, Holland is responsible for managing all common area and short-term leasing initiatives. Her mission is to deliver a program that complements the permanent leasing merchandising plan for the retail project while focusing on new business development, events, sponsorships, advertising and other alternative revenue strategies. Prior to joining Downtown Summerlin, Holland spent seven years as the Specialty Leasing Manager for Town Square Las Vegas, with both Turnberry and Forest City. Additional experience includes positions at General Growth Properties and The Rouse Company. Holland graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Illinois and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
