GLVAR Partners with ListHub to Educate Members on Real Estate Listing Syndication Issues

GLVAR is the first multiple listing service to participate in the free listing syndication education program, WiseAdvertise.ListHub Kicks Off WiseAdvertise Syndication Education Program

MORGANTOWN, W. Virginia – ListHub, the leading distributor of U.S. property listings to U.S. publisher websites and provider of real estate performance metrics, announces the launch of a free listing syndication education program, WiseAdvertise. The Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS (GLVAR) is the first multiple listing service (MLS) to participate in the program. Nearly a dozen other MLSs plan to roll out the program in the coming months.

WiseAdvertise provides MLSs and their members with a strong foundation to make informed decisions about listing syndication. The program provides MLSs with the format and structure to have a productive conversation with members about syndication, and to raise member awareness about the sources of inaccurate information online, the broker’s rights and choices in syndication, and the importance of performance metrics in online advertising.

“We believe that the WiseAdvertise solution respects our brokers’ strong interest in remaining in charge of decisions that affect their listing data while it provides them with the information and knowledge to make wise decisions, which are in the best interest of and consistent with their specific business model for advertising their listings and capturing Internet leads,” said Heidi Kasama, president of GLVAR.

In the initial phase of the WiseAdvertise program, GLVAR surveyed its members to learn about their current listing syndication awareness and attitudes. With nearly 50 percent survey participation, the association and board of directors will make WiseAdvertise a requirement for all 1,400 of its new and current broker members.

WiseAdvertise is free to ListHub’s MLS partners and members. It can be tailored for each MLS. Each program begins with a member survey to gather baseline information about the MLS community’s knowledge and sentiments about syndication. Members are offered the course in a variety of formats, including a self-paced e-learning platform or webinar. Live instructor training also can be arranged. Course topics include online listing accuracy, lead routing and syndication choices, listing data protections, listing duplication and trumping rules, and measuring online marketing. Participants receive a certificate of completion. A follow-up survey measures the effectiveness of the program and helps determine next steps.

“ListHub’s WiseAdvertise will provide critical knowledge to our brokers to enable them to best control and protect their listing data,” said David Brownell, GLVAR board member and chair of its Presidential Advisory Group on syndication. “We believe this sorely needed education will go a long way toward alleviating many of the problems in the current syndication world that concern our brokers and members such as inaccurate listing data, lack of or low standards for timely updates to data, unauthorized re-syndication, and the host of other issues that have resulted, in part, from broker-level decisions made without this important education and training.”

GLVAR has worked with ListHub for six years, and the majority of GLVAR’s members use the ListHub platform to manage their listings marketing online.
