Las Vegas – The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance announced that Michael Erin has joined the organization as Chief of Staff and Global Initiatives Manager.
Metropolitan regions like Las Vegas are increasingly competing in the global marketplace, and Erin will lead the LVGEA’s efforts to both attract foreign direct investment and assist local businesses in taking their companies to the global market.
In his role, Erin will be responsible for ensuring the CEO’s office runs efficiently and projects are completed in a timely manner. Additionally, he is responsible for creating and implementing global strategic initiatives, communicating with entities around the globe in an effort to bring business to Nevada, handling international relations with business and civic leaders, and developing campaigns that attract companies to the region. Moreover, he collaborates with regional stakeholders in the public and private sectors to achieve the goals and objectives of the LVGEA.
As a former U.S. Army Captain who served in the military from September 2001 to late 2012, Erin was responsible for managing military operations in medicine and safety for more than 200 soldiers. In returning to civilian life, he oversaw day-to-day operations at a 62-employee dental practice, where he analyzed and streamlined company business practices to achieve greater profitability.
“Michael’s training and background in the U.S. Army will bring a wealth of experience our organization needs going forward. Our military provides great training to the men and women who serve our country, and Michael will bring those skills and leadership we need to expand our reach in the global economy,” said Tom Skancke, president and CEO of the LVGEA. “His work aligns with our economic diversification goals and will better help position Southern Nevada as a global business destination.”
Erin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business with distinction from Virginia Military Institute.
