McDonald’s Kicks Off Annual Ronald McDonald House Charities “Give a Hand” Fundraiser

McDonald’s announced the launch of its 12th annual “Give a Hand” fundraiser to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).LAS VEGAS, NV - McDonald’s announced the launch of its 12th  annual “Give a Hand” fundraiser to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). From May 1 through 10, community members can support the charity by visiting participating McDonald’s restaurants and purchasing a paper hand valued at $1, $3 or $5. Paper hands purchased will also be displayed in participating McDonald’s restaurants throughout the month of May.

The majority of funds collected at participating Southern Nevada stores during the 10 day event will benefit local RMHC efforts, with 75 percent of donations benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas and 25 percent going to the global office of RMHC.

“For nearly 40 years, McDonald’s restaurants across the country have supported and promoted the caring cause of RMHC,” said James Vance, president of the McDonald’s Greater Las Vegas Operator Association. “Our local owner/operators are proud to help RMHC provide a home away from home for families who must travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children.”

Demonstrating the generosity and value of McDonald’s customers, last year more than $5 million was raised for RMHC through the “Give a Hand” fundraiser at participating McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. This donation along with others RMHC receives allows the charity to serve seven million children and families every year around the world.
