(Las Vegas) – Vegas PBS announced that Mayte Heredia has been appointed as Ready To Learn Project Facilitator. The Vegas PBS Ready To Learn project provides literacy, health and math-based workshops to schools and families. Vegas PBS Ready To Learn focuses approximately 90 percent of its outreach efforts on Clark County School District Title I schools.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Heredia will assist with all Ready To Learn outreach programs and activities, including family workshops focusing on literacy, health and mathematics in public and private schools and in the community.
Prior to joining Vegas PBS, Heredia was a Title 1 Project Facilitator at the Title 1 Family Engagement Centers for more than 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Lesley University.
Heredia has a passion for working with families and has presented many family workshops in the community that focus on literacy, math, technology and family leadership.
