RENO, Nev. - Nevada law firm Kaempfer Crowell announced it has hired award-winning Reno bankruptcy attorneys Janet Chubb and Louis Bubala to lead the firm’s new bankruptcy practice.
Kaempfer Crowell, which already provides attorneys in a wide range of practice areas, including employment, business and aviation law, hired Chubb and Bubala as a result of the two attorneys’ extensive backgrounds in commercial and financial litigation, said Severin Carlson, partner with Kaempfer Crowell.
“With Jann and Lou joining our team, Kaempfer Crowell is now able to offer an impressive bankruptcy practice group with two tremendously respected and experienced attorneys known throughout the state,” Carlson said. “The addition of these two talented attorneys will help Kaempfer Crowell provide a more comprehensive range of services to its clients.”
In their new positions at Kaempfer Crowell, Chubb and Bubala will head the firm’s efforts to recover and protect clients’ financial interests.
Chubb joins the firm after serving as a partner with Armstrong Teasdale. During her four years at Armstrong Teasdale, she worked on a wide variety of bankruptcy law cases, including formal bankruptcy proceedings, reorganization, liquidation and litigation. Her legal career has also included working as a stockholder with Jones Vargas for 21 years. With a law degree from the Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount University, Chubb has twice been appointed and once elected as the lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
Chubb is one of only three lawyers in Nevada to be inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy, an organization of approximately 600 bankruptcy professionals worldwide. She has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America for bankruptcy by the Best Lawyers peer-review publication for the past 10 years. She has also been recognized as one of the top-40 women lawyers in the five-state mountain region by Super Lawyers magazine.
“I look forward to working alongside Lou as we build an effective bankruptcy department at Kaempfer Crowell,” Chubb said. “I’m confident we can make significant contributions to the firm and its clients.”
Bubala also joins Kaempfer Crowell after working as a partner with Armstrong Teasdale. Working with Armstrong Teasdale for nearly four years, he represented creditors in all aspects of the debtor-creditor relationship in the bankruptcy process. He also previously served as a member of the Jones Vargas Litigation Practice Group for more than five years. Bubala earned his law degree at the University of Oregon School of Law.
Active in the American Bankruptcy Institute, Bubala co-chaired the Western Consumer Bankruptcy Conference in Las Vegas in 2013 and 2014. He has also served as president of the Northern Nevada Bankruptcy Bar Association. He has been honored as one of the Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers and was also recognized as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine.
“Kaempfer Crowell is known for offering high-quality attorneys in many practice areas, and I’m honored to join a firm with such a strong reputation,” Bubala said.
