Edward Vance of EV&A Architects elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects

Vance Becomes Only 2014 Recipient from the State of Nevada for Prominent Recognition.

Edward Vance

Las Vegas – EV&A Architects, a Las Vegas-based architecture firm, announced that CEO and founder Edward Vance was selected for elevation to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Vance is the only recipient from the state of Nevada to receive this prestigious recognition this year.

“It’s extremely humbling and certainly and an incredible honor to be included in this elite group of architects and to be recognized by my peers nationally,” said Vance.

Founded in 1952, the College of Fellows is composed of members of the AIA who are elected to Fellowship by a jury of their peers. Less than two percent of all architects achieve Fellowship, and it is one of the highest honors the AIA can bestow upon a member. Election to Fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual, but also honors a model architect who has made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.

Vance is the founder and design principal of EV&A Architects, a specialty design firm serving the hospitality, commercial and health care industries. For more than 33 years, he has served his clients, his community and the profession of architecture. Design excellence has characterized his distinguished career leading up to his numerous design awards and significant commissions.

For more than 27 years, Vance has served his Las Vegas clients and the profession of architecture. Design excellence characterizes his distinguished career. Vance is a registered architect in seven states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He earned his bachelor of arts and bachelor of architecture degrees from North Dakota State University.

The 2014 AIA Jury of Fellows recognized 139 members to its prestigious College of Fellows this year. Out of more than 80,000 AIA members, just over 3,000 members have been distinguished with this honor since its inception. Vance will receive his Fellowship medal during the Investiture of Fellows Ceremony at the AIA 2014 National Convention in Chicago. The Investiture Ceremony will be held at Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University on Friday, June 27, 2014.
