Young Lawyers Section Of State Bar To Provide Free Legal Assistance To Senior Citizens

The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the State Bar of Nevada, in collaboration with Nevada Legal Services and Southern Nevada Senior Law Program, is hosting “Serving Seniors,” a free legal assistance clinic for senior citizens. The event will be held on April 24, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Center located at 250 North Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas.

Attorneys from Gordon Silver and throughout the valley will be in attendance to provide senior citizens with legal information regarding basic estate planning tools like powers of attorney, wills and probate issues. Information will also be provided on elder law issues such as guardianship, social security, and other benefit programs.

“This is a great opportunity for senior citizens to receive valuable information to help protect themselves,” says Kristin M. Tyler, attorney at Gordon Silver, and chair of the event. “YLS is committed to providing charitable service to the community, which is what we aim to accomplish with the ‘Serving Seniors’ event.”
