LAS VEGAS - Traveling 1,000 miles for a good deal on a car might seem extreme. But for Brad Estes and his wife Mishaun, the good deal and excellent service at Park Place Infiniti Las Vegas is well worth a cross-country drive.
The Kansas natives have loaded up their family for the drive across six states three times since 2009 to buy a car from Park Place Infiniti General Manager Joe Tortomasi, the man they view as the best customer service expert on this side of the Mississippi River.
“Joe and his guys just make the whole car buying thing so easy,” Brad Estes, 44, said. “From Day 1, I never had to haggle. We get to the bottom line immediately. He knows what I need and what I’m willing to pay, and he tells me exactly what he can do.”
Tortomasi, who began managing the 5605 W. Sahara Ave. dealership last year, said his goal is to ensure every client has an exceptional experience.
“I don’t want people just to get good service. I want them to get truly exceptional service,” he said. “I really emphasize that with all my employees. People will get excellent service here that you can’t find anywhere else.”
The Estes family put that claim to the test. Just before their latest excursion in March, Brad Estes said he and his wife drove 100 miles from their home to Wichita, Kan., to the nearest Infiniti dealership.
“We test drove the car and talked with a salesman, the whole thing,” he said. “But the whole situation – the pricing, service – let’s just say that after that, driving to Vegas to see Joe and his guys was a no-brainer. Otherwise, the haggling was going to take forever. The value of not having to go through all that is worth the road trip.”
The Estes family first met Tortomasi while they lived in Las Vegas. The couple lived in Southern Nevada for 15 years before deciding to move to their home state in 2009 to raise their two boys, Talon, 12, and Ridge, 11.
Before taking off, the Estes family called Tortomasi to ensure he had the car they wanted, a 2011 Infiniti QX56, which is Park Place Infiniti’s most popular, luxury sport utility vehicle. The 2014 model is called the Infiniti QX80. To their delight, he had it.
“Our boys are getting bigger, so we need a bigger car for hauling them and their friends around,” said Mishaun Estes, 43. “I had my eye on the QX56. The luxury amenities by far surpass any of the other SUVs in the markets we looked at. I love the exterior, and there’s lots of interior roominess. Plus, the kids love the dual headset monitors.”
The Infiniti QX56 is the 14th car the Estes family has bought from Tortomasi, who has run other local car dealerships during his career.
“Joe understands our changing needs and what we like,” Brad Estes said. “He always makes sure to find us the car that fits our purpose.”
