LAS VEGAS – Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada (JA) announces its Fourth Annual Poker Tournament and VIP party on June 1 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Aria Resort & Casino Las Vegas and The Deuce Lounge.
Poker professionals, aspiring players, spectators and party-goers are invited to attend this exciting fundraiser offering entertainment, food and drink, and a grand prize seat at the 2014 World Series of Poker’s Main Event (WSOP).
The Texas Hold ‘em tournament provides poker participants the opportunity to showcase skills, learn new strategy and play against the best while trying to claim the highly-coveted WSOP seat. The annual event attracts some of poker’s most recognized faces, including WSOP bracelet winners Bobby Baldwin and Phil Hellmuth.
“JA is grateful for the support and response the community has showed for the last three years,” said Alan Diskin, president of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “The generous participants, attendees and sponsors are the reason the event is successful and in turn why JA is able to continue its educational programs for the youth.”
Junior Achievement ensures an event to remember for all in attendance. In addition to the grand prize, qualifying players will receive cash and recreational prizes. A raffle giveaway and silent auction will provide participants with the chance to win a customized poker table, Caribbean vacation, show tickets, gift cards, and local stay and play packages.
All net proceeds, including admission, table sales, buy-ins and raffle tickets will be donated directly to Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. Last year’s event generated almost $120,000, providing educational enhancement for 20,000 students within the Clark County School District. This year, JA aims to raise $130,000 increasing its ability to offer educational assistance to students in the community.
