LAS VEGAS – The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE:HHC) announced the hiring of Andrew Ciarrocchi, Kimberly Esparza and Vicki Rousseau as Senior General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Marketing Director for The Shops at Summerlin, respectively. The new leadership team will be responsible for opening the 106-acre,1.6 million-square foot development, which represents the first phase for the future Downtown Summerlin. When open later this year, the shopping, dining and entertainment venue will feature more than 125 stores and restaurants in a streetscape environment located in the heart of the Summerlin master planned community.
In his role as Senior General Manager of The Shops at Summerlin, Ciarrocchi will oversee the management team and all daily operations, budgets, financial reporting and standards for the property. Prior to joining The Howard Hughes Corporation, Ciarrocchi was Washington State District Manager for the Westfield Group, one of the world’s leading shopping center organizations. Ciarrocchi has more than 15 years of shopping center management experience as well as experience in regional marketing and management for one of the top five movie theater companies in the country. Ciarrocchi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University. He is a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX) through the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Esparza brings 10 years of marketing and center management experience to the team. In her role as Assistant General Manager, Esparza will assist Ciarrocchi in the day-to-day operations of the shopping center. Prior to joining The Shops at Summerlin, Esparza spent three years with The Howard Hughes Corporation as Senior Marketing Manager for Park West in Peoria, AZ and General Manager for Rio West Mall in Gallup, NM. In addition, Esparza worked throughout the Midwest with Opus North, NorthMarq Real Estate Services and Simon Property Group. Esparza graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), working towards her CSM designation.
As Marketing Director for The Shops at Summerlin, Rousseau will be responsible for leading all marketing efforts. Rousseau has more than 20 years of shopping center marketing experience with Forest City Commercial Management as the Director of Marketing for several centers, including: Galleria at Sunset in Henderson; Showcase Mall in Las Vegas; and The Tucson Mall in Tucson, AZ. She also previously served as the Director of Marketing for Town Square Las Vegas with Turnberry Associates. Rousseau graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising and marketing from California State University, Long Beach. She is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

The Shops at Summerlin is part of a planned urban center to be known as Downtown Summerlin, which will serve the entire Las Vegas Valley. When complete, it will include retail, entertainment, office, hotel and multi-family residential, all designed to create a vibrant, walkable urban core within the 22,500-acre master planned community.
Construction began in the middle of 2013 on the expansive,106-acre,1.6 million-square-foot Shops at Summerlin,which represents the first phase in the future downtown.
