Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association Offers Social Media/SEO Education On April 2 in Las Vegas

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association will sponsor a free educational seminar for its members, “Using Social Media to Influence SEO”.The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association will sponsor a free educational seminar for its members, “Using Social Media to Influence SEO” on Wednesday, April 2, 2014  hosted  by the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Harper Room, which is in the Fantasy Tower.

Speakers from,, The New Tropicana and ImageWords Communications will cover:

·     How to successfully use media production to fuel social media

·     Why SEO back linking is dead and what to do about it

·     Site optimization to maximize the visitor experience and improve SEO

·     Online media tips and tricks  for hotels and related industries

·     Understanding the impact of social media on company public relations

Diane Gandy, vice president of organizational development for the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, said SEO and social media are two topics frequently requested by the association's members for educational seminars. "Every one of our members wants to be top of mind with customers and we all need to  be highly targeted in our outreach," Gandy said. "We designed our April educational panel, which is generously hosted by the Palms Casino Resort, to cover a broad range of social media and search engine optimization topics so that those attending can leave with techniques they can use right away."

Brian Mell, assistant marketing manager of will present “Creating an ‘SEOcial’ Marketing Campaign: Integrating social media into SEO tactics.”

Bob Dufour, president of, will cover how web optimization can lead to increased revenue.

The New Tropicana’s Director of Online Media, Kat Carrera, will speak about social media in the travel industry environment.

Ruth Furman, principal of ImageWords Communications, will address public relation in the age of social media.

Any employees from members companies of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association (comprisedof those working for hotels and vendors servicing hotels and resorts throughout Nevada) may attend the workshop for no charge as a benefit of membership.
