The Modern Contemporary Art Museum in Las Vegas Thrilled about Crowd Funding Campaign

The Modern Contemporary Art Museum is excited to announce their Indiegogo campaign that is running through Apr. 17.LAS VEGAS - The Modern Contemporary Art Museum is excited to announce their Indiegogo campaign that is running through Apr. 17. The crowd funding initiative aims to raise $100,000 and is off to an encouraging start with more than $7,000 donated in the first six days. This money will be allocated to funding a project manager, who is leading the day-to-day tasks of the museum’s development, and to maintain a public space where those who are interested in the project’s progress can visit, share feedback, get involved, and participate in events and fundraisers. The public space is located in Art Square at 1025 First Street, Suite 140, in the heart of the burgeoning arts district. We encourage locals and visitors alike to stop in to learn more about the project, see 3-D models, speak with others involved with The Modern, and even donate to the campaign.

This initiative is part of the $29 million capital campaign that is currently underway. The project has already received more than $2.4 million pledged in land and cash donations and the Board of Directors is enthusiastic and hopeful for the continued success of the campaign.

The mission of The Modern is to inspire and educate through creativity, art, and design.  Not only will this project generate significant economic impact during the construction phase, but it will also create ongoing economic growth through employment and tax revenue. The Modern will also help build more critical mass of the arts in the thriving 18b Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas.

The Modern Contemporary Art Museum is an inspiring, new institution dedicated to visual arts and design planned for two acres in the burgeoning downtown Las Vegas Arts District. Along with The Center for Creativity and Luminous Park, the museum will form a progressive cultural center that will showcase art, technology, and design in addition to providing essential training and tools for artists and designers. The Modern will house 35,000 square feet and three floors of museum galleries, a retail gift shop, a bistro, and event spaces. Board members expect to break ground on this exciting project within the next two years, with hopes of opening by 2018.
