Gordon Silver Ltd. is pleased to announce that Colleen E. McCarty, an associate in the firm’s Las Vegas office, has been appointed to the Advisory Commission on the Administration of Justice's Victims of Crime Sub-committee.
McCarty practices in various areas of general and commercial litigation, business crimes and government investigation matters. She is experienced in First Amendment and protection of freedom of speech and the press, and also works on civil matters that arise for various media entities.
Prior to joining the firm, McCarty was part of the award-winning I-team at 8 News Now. She was honored with four of journalism’s most prestigious awards in a single year, including the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize, the duPont-Columbia Award, for her work on “Desert Underwater,” a comprehensive examination of the housing crisis in Southern Nevada.
McCarty received her J.D., cum laude, from University of Nevada – Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law and her B.S., magna cum laude, in Mass Communications from the University of California at Berkeley.
