In his 24 year career with the district, Skorkowsky has served as an elementary school teacher, a principal, an area superintendent, a deputy superintendent, and an interim superintendent. In June 2013, Skorkowsky was unanimously appointed Superintendent of the Clark County School District, and has led a reorganization that has improved business practices and helped to boost district achievement.
Joining Skorkowsky will be Glenn Christenson, Chairman Emeritus of the LVGEA, and Terri Janison, Vice President of Community Development for United Way of Southern Nevada. Christenson and Janison co-chair the LVGEA’s Business Education Leadership Council, and they will talk briefly about the business and education community’s efforts to improve the educational system in Southern Nevada.
