United Blood Services of Las Vegas
Blood drive challenge at University Medical Center
Find the hero in you and join the battle to save lives! Volunteer blood donors are needed to gather 750 life-saving blood products during the largest blood drive in Las Vegas history. This blood drive will challenge the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as well as paramedics and staff from University Medical Center to determine which organization can bring in the most blood donations. When community members donate, each participant will be asked which organization they are supporting and a vote will be cast to support our local heroes!
All donors at this blood drive will receive vouchers for various Las Vegas shows. Donors will also be entered into hourly drawings for a chance to win a variety of prizes including a grand prize $1,000 Visa gift card provided by Clark County Credit Union and United Blood Services.
As Southern Nevada’s community blood provider, United Blood Services relies on blood donations to make sure blood is available for anyone who needs it. UBS currently has an urgent need for O negative blood. O negative is the universal blood type and the only type that can be transfused to patients with different blood types.
Donors are encouraged to make an appointment and can do so by calling 877-827-4376 or by visiting www.unitedbloodservices.org/LV and entering sponsor code: UMChospital. Donors can now complete their health history questionnaire online on the same day of their donation by visiting www.unitedbloodservices.org/HealthHistory.html. This questionnaire often saves time for donors, as it provides UBS with valuable information that is typically gathered during the in-person interview process at mobile blood drives and donation centers. The questionnaire must be completed on the same day as the blood donation.
UBS is always interested in creating partnerships for new blood drive sponsors in our community. To learn more about organizing a mobile blood drive, please call (702)304-6457.
