LAS VEGAS – Werner Institute for Balance and Dizziness founder, Brian K. Werner, MPT, announced the company has joined forces with Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers, a nationwide network of medical and scientific-based physical therapy and fitness centers. The company, now operating under the Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers name, will continue operations at its two Southern Nevada clinics located at 9080 W. Cheyenne Ave. and 9005 S. Pecos Road.
Fyzical’s newly branded Southern Nevada locations specialize in diagnosing and treating patients with peripheral and central nervous system disorders of the balance system. The clinics provide state-of-the art testing services and equipment, along with hands-on physical therapy for improving balance and vertigo. This method of care is called vestibular rehabilitation or balance retraining therapy.
The nationally acclaimed Epley Omniax Chair is one of many devices and procedures Werner uses to treat patients suffering from vertigo and other vestibular disorders. The chair was designed to align the patient’s semicircular ear canal with the gravitational pull of the earth in order to realign the canal and reduce or eliminate feelings of dizziness or vertigo. Werner’s Fyzical locations house two of only 14 Epley Omniax Chairs available in the United States.
Werner opened the doors to Las Vegas’ first innovative balance and dizziness center in 2005 as the Werner Institute for Balance and Dizziness. Since then, the program has treated more than 15,000 patients in Southern Nevada. As a result of joining the Fyzical brand, Werner has been able to network with physical therapists nationwide to share his proprietary balance program.
Fyzical is a unit of Sarasota-based BizZoom, a private-equity firm founded in 2012. Fyzical’s vision is to build a nationwide network of physical therapy centers under one brand that can grow — quickly and in large scale — through franchising.
“When I discovered what Fyzical is doing to ensure the future of private practice physical therapy owners, I knew I had to be a part of it. As a group, we can simply accomplish more than any physical therapists operating alone,” said Werner. “This network of leading health care professionals will provide Southern Nevada with access to the highest-quality physical therapy programs available.”
