Rob Wigton, CEO of the Nevada Association of REALTORS (NVAR), was recently honored by the National Association of REALTORS with its REALTOR Certified Executive (RCE) designation recognizing exceptional efforts of association executives nationwide.
Wigton joins the fraternity of REALTOR association executives who have achieved this mark of excellence. According to NAR, local and state association executives who hold the RCE designation represent REALTORS in 52 states and territories.
“This is truly an honor, and I’m very proud to be receiving this designation. It’s a high point in my career as an association executive,” Wigton said.
Before becoming a candidate for the RCE designation, applicants must document their association management and academic experiences. Once they have completed this first step, eligible candidates must successfully complete a three-hour exam, which is based on a comprehensive understanding of association operations and management practices. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of areas critical to REALTOR® association management, including association law, governance, financial management and issues related to member services. To retain the designation, RCEs must be recertified every four years.
Wigton will receive an award plaque in December from NVAR President Patty Kelley during NVAR’s Board of Directors meeting in Las Vegas.
