Wayne Tew: Clark County Credit Union

Meet Wayne Tew: President/CEO, Clark County Credit UnionPresident/CEO
Clark County

How did you first get into your profession?
When I left public accounting, I was working as a controller for a small data processing firm when a credit union CEO approached me and asked if I would come and work for him as vice president and controller. I accepted his offer and have been in credit unions ever since.

What do you like most and least about your industry?
I most enjoy hiring and mentoring employees to achieve their career goals. I least enjoy the increasing regulatory burdens imposed by various government entities.

What is the biggest challenge your industry is facing?
We are very concerned about the as-of-yet-unknown new regulations that will be promulgated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

If you had to choose another profession, what would it be?
High School Teacher. Why? Teenagers need strong male role models and I enjoy working with youth.
