Michael Vannozzi Named Manager of Strategic Initiatives for  Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance

(Las Vegas) – The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, formerly the Nevada Development Authority, announced today that Michael Vannozzi has been appointed to the position of Manager of Strategic Initiatives.  Vannozzi will be working with LVGEA’s executives to advance the organization’s strategic development goals.

“I am thrilled to welcome Michael to the LVGEA team,” said LVGEA President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Skancke.  “His experience and background will be a great addition to the LVGEA as we work to make Las Vegas a preeminent global business destination.”

Prior to his appointment with the LVGEA, Vannozzi worked as Senator Harry Reid’s Special Projects Manager. In this position, Vannozzi worked with local, state and federal leaders to affect various economic development goals, including those identified in the Brookings/SRI Report. He also had a special focus on bringing new capital and expertise into the regional economy, and has worked with dozens of small businesses to meet their financial goals.  In his time with Senator Reid, Vannozzi worked closely with the leadership of the Nevada higher education community to identify funding opportunities, improve programs and bring talent to the state. In addition, he worked with various stakeholders on trade issues, including miscellaneous tariff bills and the free trade zone.  Vannozzi also has specialized expertise in immigration and K-12 education issues, and was Senator Reid’s point person in the education community for several years.

Vannozzi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
